Let’s walk through a practical example of a handyman service request:

1. Ticket Creation via Helpdesk

A client submits a ticket saying: My kitchen sink is leaking and water is clogging the pipes.

The Helpdesk app logs the issue, assigns it a priority, and sends an automatic acknowledgment to the client. This ensures no request is lost, and the clock starts immediately.

2. Task Assignment & Scheduling in Field Service

The manager reviews the ticket and assigns it to a technician based on location and availability. A field task is created with:

  • Customer location (auto-mapped)
  • Preferred service time
  • Issue details

The technician receives a mobile notification with all the job information.

Once the job is marked as completed:

  • Odoo generates an invoice including labor charges + parts used
  • Taxes and discounts (if applicable) are auto-calculated
  • The invoice is emailed directly to the client with online payment options

The client can pay via bank, card, or UPI (customizable).
